In person tests are required where available and applicants who submit the remote version may be asked to submit to a subsequent in-person test if it becomes available and/or require that they undergo additional language assessment prior to a final admissions decision and/or matriculation.

　　We still prefer the iBT test to be taken at a test center. At this time, our admissions committee is not accepting the home edition of the TOEFL. Please note that if your petition is approved, you may be required to conduct an online video interview with a member of the Northwestern admissions staff and/or take additional assessments to demonstrate English-language capability. Further, your admission may be contingent upon your taking the TOEFL at a test center later in the process. We do not accept the IELTS indicator.
